About Us
WithMeWithYou / Conmigo-Contigo is a nonprofit organization that connects immigrants and asylum seekers with volunteer escorts—veterans, clergy, public figures, and other allies—who accompany them to immigration court hearings and check-ins. Our mission is to offer solidarity, reduce fear, and deter targeting through visible, human support.
Position Overview
We are seeking a volunteer Board Treasurer to help steward our growing organization’s financial health and transparency. As an early-stage nonprofit, we need a detail-oriented, mission-aligned professional to build foundational financial systems and ensure accountability as we grow.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the organization’s financial strategy, recordkeeping, and reporting
Work with leadership to develop and manage budgets, including program and general operating budgets
Review and present monthly or quarterly financial statements to the board in clear, accessible language
Ensure compliance with IRS 501(c)(3) requirements, annual reporting (Form 990), and other legal and regulatory obligations
Support the development of basic internal financial policies, such as expense reimbursement, donation acceptance, and fiscal controls
Collaborate with staff and/or bookkeepers to track donations, grants, and expenditures
Help advise on sustainable funding models, including the financial implications of partnerships, grants, and campaigns
Serve as a financial thought partner to the Executive Director and fellow board members
Qualifications
Background in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or nonprofit financial management
Understanding of nonprofit financial standards and IRS reporting requirements
Familiarity with QuickBooks, Wave, or other small org accounting tools is helpful
Experience on a nonprofit board or financial committee preferred, but not required
Passion for immigrant justice, equity, and solidarity
Time Commitment
Estimated 5–8 hours/month, including:
Quarterly board meetings (remote)
Occasional check-ins with leadership or fellow board members
Ad hoc review of financial documents as needed
